Their collaborative approach combines Fiona’s theatrical origins and screenwriting expertise with Steve’s background as a TV/film content creator, scriptwriter, and film historian.

Steve transitioned from journalism to screenwriting after earning his MA in Film, contributing to projects including NITV’s Letterboxed and ABC’s From the Ashes. His work is characterised by sharp dialogue and a strong sense of place, evident in scripts like Old Guns and Oy’Stralia! He has interviewed cinema legends such as James Caan and Sidney Lumet for Cinema Retro, curated commercially successful film festivals, and served as a regular film reviewer on ABC Radio Brisbane.

Fiona began her career writing plays for her UK theatre company Performing Tarts before relocating to Australia to develop her screenwriting craft. Her projects have been optioned by multiple production companies and shortlisted for prestigious initiatives including AWG’s Prime Time competition, Screen Australia’s Hot Shots Plus, ScreenCraft’s Film Fund, and the Screen QLD/Stan Development Initiative. She’s been a member of the Australian Writers’ Guild QLD committee since 2021, and has recently been hired by QLD company Picture Co. to write the tech thriller feature ‘ALT’.

Under the banner of INK & THUNDER, Fiona and Steve have used their unique British perspective to craft a slate of diverse projects, which span comedy, thriller, horror, and hybrid formats across television and film. These seasoned writers bring intuitive storytelling instincts and a knack for creating commercially viable scripts that engage and surprise.
